Female was still feeding the little one when the male arrived with the next snake, he came from behind and she was surprised with his appearance. She continued feeding with the fresh snake.

Next snake arrives, it was in the male´s crop, only the last end of the snake was hanging out of his beak. Female pulled the snake out of his crop and ate it herself a bit later.

Again a very looong snake is delivered, male transports it in his crop and then the female pulls it out on the nest. Fascinating.
This time it is not one of these greenish snakes, it is a more brownish one.

Feeding didn´t start immediately. The little one has always a smudgy beak while and after feeding .... these snakes seem to be rather juicy food

During the day the parents have to provide shadow for the little one, I suppose the temperatures there are pretty high.

Eaglet is growing well - no food competitor and no lack of food
Its crop is still looking like a tennis ball when it gets new food.

Feeding starts and eaglet thinks it is already big enough to swallow the whole snake in one go :D
Mom can convince it to still wait a bit with something like that and continues feeding it with smaller morsels

This snake didn´t want to accept its fate and fastened her tail with a knot to one of the branches :D
Female had to work for a while to get it loose. She decided to eat this snake herself and that such a stubborn snake was not the right food for her eaglet

My last report is nearly a month ago and Short-toed Snake eaglet has become a wonderful big eaglet :loveshower:

12:52
A chameleon is delivered, first morsels are fed, then eaglet swallows the major part of it in whole.
Makes a poop shot after finishing and walks to the little bit of shade on the nest.
