Then he decided to stretch his wings for real:

Dad came back after just 3 minutes:

It's been a very quiet day:

Another disturbance - the ruff and the tail are up, the wings are spread wide, and Dad is stepping emphatically to drive the intruder(s) away:


Mom has stayed away the whole day:


Dad and the chick were comfortably asleep when the stream stopped at 21:38:

Due to the weather, the stream started a little later than normal, at 07:12:


Dad was still in charge of the chick:


He took off to warm up a bit:

All alone in the huge nest, the chick didn't look too comfortable:


Dad came back after less than three minutes:


Later on he flapped his wings with force to shake off the rainwater:

No kid, Daddy isn't going anywhere:


The rain stopped, the feathers dried:


Dad broke into the defensive mode:

The young male looks quite a shield:


Let's hope Mom comes back today:

10 minutes later the female hopped onto one of the branches:


The chick addressed Dad under Mom's watchful eye:

At 18:39 Mom came down into the nest too:
