Beautiful egg, Gabby back to brood.

GABBY left the nest yesterday afternoon about 12:30pm when Samson arrived to incubate. She hasn't returned yet. I checked the LY and trees in the area at dawn this morning, and she wasn't seen. This is odd behavior that she didn't return last night to incubate. Samson has been a trooper and hasn't yet left their eggs. He will soon need to stretch his wings. We remain positive and hopeful Gabby returns soon.

From AEF Facebook:... He was up once more at 11:52 am...he flew off at 11:53 am...in flew Gabby with vocal at 11:54 am...Hooray! she was finally back! After some brief discussion with Samson she hopped to the nest to take over incubating NE26 and NE27. Samson immediately flew off for his long awaited break. Pshew!

GABBY IS HOME!
She looks fine, happy and relaxed - there are no marks or injuries - appears she just took some time off before the eggs hatch. One of our local rehabbers mentioned that towards the end of gestation, a female can sometimes be a little unpredictable! All is Fine in the Pine once again!
