Is it a black-headed (swamp) titmouse or brown-headed (Parus montanus)?

It’s very unfortunate that we cannot scroll back! Such interesting shots! Four species of tits on a feeding trough at the same time: Great tit, Blue tit, Swamp tit, Crested tit (I don’t know if I wrote their names correctly in English). I didn’t manage to take a picture! :puzzled:

Tatyana, *my* sparrows love the titmouse seed dumplings.

The greenfinch is a greenfinch.

December 13th

Hello to all! :hi:

Solo! Many thanks! Speaking of the marsh tit, I meant Poecile palustris. But I do not know how to distinguish this bird from Poecile montanus. And all of them there are 14 species! (as indicated on Wikipedia) :slap:

Solo, thanks for good sites!

I summarize mine sites (got from this forum also in previous years) :innocent:

Willow tit Poecile montanus, former Parus montanus Буроголо́вая га́ичка, пухля́к (in latvian pelēkā zīlīte or "grey" tit)
Marsh tit Poecile palustris, former Parus palustris Черноголо́вая га́ичка, боло́тная га́ичка, га́ичка (in latvian purva zīlīte)

Tatyana, there are items also in russian.
http://www.ebirds.ru/vid/375.htm
http://www.ebirds.ru/vid/374.htm

And some items in english:
using a bill criterion (the same which Solo put here)
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10. ... 08.9674382

all criterions – look at the pictures in comments!
https://community.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/ ... willow-tit

and full paper here
https://www.britishbirds.co.uk/wp-conte ... h-Tits.pdf

But in reality it is not so easy, but I suppose these grey are different tits… is it true?

The plumage of the sparrow in the foreground looks different from the others. Can it be a juvenile?

Jay and Greater spotted Woodpecker together at the fat food
It seems they were not that happy about each others presence, but tolerated each other for a short time
Jay preferred to leave :D

Good to see them so close together for size comparison

Hello to all! :hi:

Made! Thanks a lot for the links. It is very interesting! But while it is very difficult to distinguish between these birds! I look at the head and neck of these birds: Poecile montanus has a stronger neck, its silhouette resembles an egg, and Poecile palustris has a thinner and more elegant silhouette. :book:
