Starting March 7th we will transmit from a grey seal monitoring camera in Vilsandi National Reserve area, Saaremaa.  The camera was actually in place on February 10th but the wind generators did not manage to turn out enough energy to feed the system. From yesterday on there are supporting solar panels.
Now, as the camera transmissions start, the grey seals have their breeding period. The pups have white baby coats, the females, cows, have speckled coats and are a little smaller than the dark male seals, bulls.
Grey seals are rather vocal and mobile. Soon we will introduce the life and habits of our largest sea-living mammal more thoroughly.
NB! To see the video full-screen double click on the video window in Media Player. If direct stream watching does not work the web player (right-hand side) may be useful; the camera image can then be seen directly from the web browser.
