Forest Camera 1 for instance has lost its Internet connection. We can’t find out what is wrong during the weekend because several different enterprises have to be involved. All the same we have been lucky until now: breaks in transmission have been minimal. This winter many families have had to spend days without electricity and Internet, in town as well as country.
The grey seal camera survived Monica and Scarlett with some success: the snow in the camera lens melted in 3-4 days. The lens of the winter bird feeder camera was covered with an ice crust some days.
The solar panels of the seal monitoring camera are probably buried in a snowdrift. At present it is not possible to go out to the seal islet: ice is only just forming in the Baltic. We too observe the developments with some interest - what will happen?
The weather is changing to thaw, the snow becomes very heavy, many trees will break and other less than pleasant things may occur....
