Interestingly, Matttis flew to the nest for a few minutes before the appearance of the first egg. The impression that he was lifting Mai. :D From Pontu 8:40.

About the name, Mattis is not common Estonian name, though it's a nice name
My be name him for short Mati, it's very common Estonian name. Mai and Mati. What do you think about it?

Mati is sure a nice name.
Even if I think he is an immigrant from Finland with his only silver ring, and in Finland he would be Matti. Mattis is not a Finnish forname either.

Bea, I love the male's new name Mati, it goes very nicely with Mai!
Also, Bea, I enjoyed the video of Mai laying her 1st egg that you made that is on the Documentation page!
Sad that both males, Mikk and Ilmar, did not make it back to Estonia this year.

Exiting moments: Mati (male) takes off when Mai (female) begins to lay first egg in their well prepared nest. :bounce:
Everything goes fine and a happy Mai starts brooding right away. Congratulations for Mai and Mati! :shake:
