If a miracle happens and the eaglet becomes active, the parents will be back in no time. But it is very unlikely.

That wasn't a miracle. EE1 is still alive and had to go to the toilet
The instinct not to make it into the nest is very great, as you can see here

:hi: all,

EE1 is still breathing, but hopefully not for long and she/he will get rid of the suffering.

This year would seem to be difficult in all nests where there is a camera, from the danish nest one chick died of the disease and the other has a problem with the eye. This only shows how difficult it is for wildlife to raise chicks.

12:37 EE1 is still alive .. is is lying with open eyes

At EE2 it lasted until 12:00 noon. EE1 is much stronger. It's gonna be a long, bad day.

12:52:15 Eve is calling

...I try to comfort that EE1 might be fainted or half unconscious, occasionally at least, so not so much suffering. Who knows if pains at all.(?) Just thinking.

GT:
Yesterday a younger eagle died, today EE1, which became a couple of weeks old and hatched first.

There may indeed be many reasons, but the death of two eagles only a day apart?

We know that with food, old birds can bring various diseases to the nest, whether they are birds and animals that have died as a result of environmental toxins or other poisonings - of course, sea eagles use carcasses for food.

This spring, a large number of bird carcasses can be seen on our coast (large birds are the mute swans) and it is warned that these may be dead specimens of bird flu. Smaller mammals also feed on carcasses, transporting them to coastal junipers and under the forest. Carcasses are torn by dogs walking on the beaches, but the situation is not given the attention they deserve.

I’m so sorry that also EE1 died today. It’s very sad.

Everything seemed so promising on this beautiful nest. But then, in a short time, things went completely wrong.

Let’s hope that at least both parents will fully recover (from whatever disease or toxins that caused this awful situation).

The article on EE2 from yesterday is available also in Russian.

It is very sad, but the elder sibling had not a single chance to survive. The situation is very similar to the Bald eagle nest Webster Tx, where the chicks also died one by one.

The bodies should be retrieved to learn the exact reason of death and to avoid eating them by parents.

Very sad news in the WTE nest :(
This is very unpleasant because WTE breeding have been usually with solid course with happy ending. This time something went very wrong.
This can probably be some disease because chicks was tired out during several days.

We will collect the dead chick(s) from the nest tomorrow to analyze and find out possible reasons.

i'm glad to hear that you will collect the dead chicks for examination and i'm sure that many other people will be happy about it, too.

hopefully no-one collects the chicks before you get there. and hopefully the analysis will answer what went wrong.

Thank you, Renno, for the information. I wish you good luck with the recovery. Is it possible that we will be informed about the result of the investigation?
