Janika may not have known what was behind the sudden departure :puzzled:

8.44 ; 9.01 Jan is doing the usual routine- preening and aerating.
9.05 JANIKA arrives. They greet eachother
Usual egg and self care routine at:
9 (25 ; 46 ; 55)
10 (22 ; 48)
11(23; 49)
12(15; 46)
13(00; 43)
14(02; 07; 37)
15(04; 48)
Today is a windy weather. It promised rain also, but I don't know if near our nest. I don't know where to check the weather. Jõgeva county is overall a big area. Is there a village nearby the forest to get more exact weather predictions?

15.56 Some interesting bird sound from backround.
16.22 Care routine.
16.33 Machine approaching! Twigs cracking can be heard. Humans very near. Talking can be heard.
16.36 Machine is VERY near. Janika is alert.
16.40 Machine is slowly starting to move farther away?
16.45 Machine can still be heard from distance, but it is far away.
It was probably the ATV (all-terrain-vehicle).

Janika was very brave the whole time and didn't leave the eggs!

17.02 machine is approaching the nest again! I think it's driving past just under the nest tree!
17.07 The monster is gone! For now... :slap:

Guest entry from me ... great that you two are now documenting this nest life. That makes it easier.
I've been looking in here several times a day for a long time.

Well, I'm a little shocked ... but I don't know enough about the surroundings. Everyone knows that black storks are very, very sensitive and that each of their kind is a special gift !!!! Wasn't this area protected when it was known that this nest would be incubated? It is very delicate to do this fuss to this young couple.

I keep my thumbs tight !!! Keep it up! Thanks! :innocent:

:hi: Polly,

Thank you Solo, great to have you back!

Since the horrible events with the big machine, Janika is shocked and uncomfortable until 18.12, when she finally decides to stand up and aerate the nest.

Her evening care routines:
18(30; 43)
19(46)
20(06; 41; 59)
21(07; 16; 37)
22.10 It starts to rain heavily.
22.41.23 Camera stopped.

Oh, what a day!
Jan has NOT been to the nest for 13 hours! Hopefully the machine didn't scare him away and he returns to his family soon :2thumbsup:

Good night!
