If you haven't already, do take the time to look at Looduskalender's first "library book", link to English version here:
North Estonian Klint !
Fascinating pics of geology, rocks & stones, cascades, waterfalls - including the comic-sad picture of poor Ukuoru IV waterfall, moved four times ...

snow has funny effect on animals,
my nearly 9 years old German shepherd goes nuts every year, when the first snow comes
she just jumps and keeps running and tries to eat it all : she loves snow

Our much loved GSD used to do the same. Play-bow, run, bark, eat the snow. She loved a snow-ball fight. well, all dogs like us to throw a ball!

Tallinners, how much longer will your ice-rink remain? It's a very pretty scene at night.

Well, nothing wrong with a very city-centre swimming pool either, is there?
About Mait's snowman, who is also in some danger -
Jasmijn and others had some thoughts about Sir or Ms.:
Snowpersons have been seriously researched, report here
http://www.ilm.ee/index.php?45368.
For those who don’t read Estonian quite fluently, yet

and don’t altogether trust Google Translator (it didn’t do too badly with Lumememm, actually), briefly Ilm.ee says this about s/he:
Although the Snowperson may seem neutral, US research has shown that s/he /it definitely has a gender. In the US it is Mr. Snowman, Snowman in England too, and masculine Schneemann in Germany and Bonhomme de neige in France. Russia has both a Snegovnik and a Snežnaja baba. In Estonia it used always to be Mrs. (Ms.?), Lumememm (Snowmum). Lumemees, snowman is a later import, probably from England.
It is also noted that English Mr. Snowman smokes a pipe, but Lumememm carries a (much more useful & sensible) broom ...
