Thanks. ame. This thread is very interesting, we get so much new information. - I was sad last year when following of Illimar's growth was not possible, I hope this camera allows us to see the nest for whole season

i found out in yesterday's Pontu pictures and videos that the snack which Mrs E ate after 2 pm wasn't just any small snack. Mr E had brought a nice-sized pike to her at 13:58.

Mr E didn't stay long but took off.

Mrs E wasn't hungry at that moment so it took a while before she bothered to get up to eat after Mr E had left. she did some eagle yoga on the rim of the nest first.

at 14:31 she took the fish again and began eating.

then the male popped in to see how she had begun to eat and that was what Felis and i saw. i think we both thought that the male brought a little snack to Mrs E but actually he had brought it already a half an hour earlier. :D

another interesting thing which i found in yesterday's videos was this clip. Mr E got up to turn the eggs in the morning at 8:54. before turning he was preening and picking feathers in his belly so that some white downy feathers came off from his feather-coat. i think that this might mean that he also has developed brooding patches in his tummy. last year we saw how on Linda's and Sulev nest there were a lot of downy feathers after the first night when Linda had been sitting on the first egg for only one night. she had been plucking her breast during the night.

even now Mr E has a small white feather on the tip of his beak. 8-)

i looked up possibly interesting things in yesterday's Pontu pictures, for example those pictures where the eagle had its beak open. that might mean that there had been some disturbance and the eagle would be yelling at someone. yesterday in two of these cases it was not question of yelling but the eagle had yawned so that the Pontu camera had captured that.

8:06 the male yawned.

nest duty can be sooo soporific work.
(the dictionary gave this word for something which makes one drowsy; i've never seen it anywhere: 'soporific')
15:08 the female yawned.

edit: i found one more yawn in yesterday evening: the male yawned at 18:20.

15.31 Mr E began suddenly calling loud. i could not see why... ? :puzzled:
Image

then he made a little pause and when i got the recording on there were only his calls and a mallard's voice. did he get so upset about only a mallard flying by? :puzzled:

i found an episode from yesterday evening when the male got up and took off from the nest at 19:56....

then i hear a splat! in the video about 1 min 38 s from the start which is followed by a sound of rustling feathers... then the male returns to the nest and lays down...
maybe he went to loo outside the nest? :whistling:

some swans made suddenly a lot of calls near the nest, so much so that Mrs E felt that she had to call back at the swans. she looked to the front in a way that made me wonder if they have a view to the lake..? :puzzled:
then the male called a little as to calm down Mrs. 8-)

17:57 Mr E came home with a bunch of hay after Mrs had made quite a few soft calls to him.
(a little before he came i heard sound of his wings, as if he landed...? they must have their hay supply right under the nest tree.)
Image

she kept on talking to him... it looked almost like she was saying to him "fish, dear, not hay!"
Image

17:57 Mrs E took off.

i made a Pontu clip of yesterday-evening's late evening change of shifts which Owlie saw at 20:31.
viewtopic.php?p=307072#p307072
in this clip i tuned the brightness and contrast up so that the eagles can be seen more easily. in the original video only the white tails can be dimly seen. their voices, however, are as loud as ever. :D
