Good reason to head for the Emajõe-Suursoo nature reserve area to enjoy sunny late winter – early spring days
In addition the exhibition „Estonian fish“ from the Estonian Museum of Natural History is open until September 30th in the
RMK Emajõe-Suursoo Nature Centre (Kavastu village, Luunja parish, Tartumaa).
Over the years zoologist and nature photographer Tiit Hunt of the Estonian Museum of Natural History has photographed nearly all the fish species in Estonian waters. The result of this long-term work is unique photos of nearly 60 fish species in their natural habitats. Species common in all Estonian waters are shown as well as interesting species that we ordinarily may never encounter.
It is worth noting that this is not only nature photography – in addition to fascinating patterns, colours and expressions the fish in the photos clearly show their species characteristics; the exhibited photos are part of a larger project describing aquatic life in Estonian waters.
