This spring mew gull Enn (10 years old, hatched 2008 at Kakurahu), nesting at the Kakurahu in Matsalu, got a GPS transmitter.

Last week he was still busy at his breeding territory in the colony but now he has gone on migration. Last  night at midnight he stopped at the south-eastern coast of Saaremaa but today he already spent at the southern tip of the Gotland island.

Spring was early and the earliest breeders have already gone on migration (in Enn’s nest the first egg appeared on April 23). It still goes against the grain to say ”autumn migration”.
