Western Capercaillie Tetrao urogallus
The webcam that watches the capercaillie's lek is located in Lääne-Virumaa. It is a remotely controlled camera that the operator can pan, tilt, and zoom.
The male capercaillies arrive at the lek site at sunset, which is heralded by the sound of them flying in en masse.
In the mornings, the capercaillie's lek starts in the dark about 2-3 hours before sunrise (the sun rises around six o'clock in the second half of April) and lasts until mid-morning, when the males leave the lek site to rest and feed.
