The winter bird camera is located in Tallinn Zoo, where this year we observe which birds visit the feeding house during wintertime.
Before the New Year and heavy snowfall, the webcam was set up in the zoo's valuable habitat (you can read more about it here), but the winter birds had chosen to winter closer to the areas where animals are being fed, and even a lone great tit did not visit the bird feeder with the camera.
We relocated the webcam to a new spot near the zoo's main entrance. This year, in urban conditions, we don't expect a wide variety of bird species, but we will still see who visits. By the way, the winter bird camera broadcasts have been running for twenty years, since 2005.
The feed from the winter bird camera reaches enthusiasts from Tallinn Zoo, with technical support by Omar Neiland, in collaboration with Looduskalender.
Balsnack provides food for the birds.
