The eaglet that was hatched on April 24 has almost no downy feathers any longer. By and by it learns to eat by itself. It will take about one more month for the eaglet to be able to fly.

Early summer arrived early this year, it has been hot and by now there is already drought and the seawater .level has stayed low.

Everyone seems to have eaten and are well. A peaceful nest life!.

An hour before the departure from the nest both jostled in the flight opening

The weather is summery hot, hurries on nature as well as bird chicks.

The owlets waited until the sunset period to leave the nest almost at the same time and together.

Today they were a month old and at least according to memory at that age owlets have not left earlier. Neither has it happened that owlets have returned to the nest …

Before noon the last young starling left the nest box, and none of the six chicks returned in the evening to spend the night there.

We thank our project  partners, the LK forum members, who recorded the events in the nest and of course all interested viewers.

Although starlings are well-known birds fundamental studies of them have not been made in Europe.

At eight o’clock the smallest starling chick remained in the nest box

Starling        Kuldnokk       Sturnus vulgaris

Now this one too sits in the nest-box opening, considering the world – earlier the bigger ones simply did not allow it the space. The climbing seems inexperienced but training goes on.

A little before nine o’clock there were several visits to the opening.
