The very vocal heron colony provided with web camera is surely the largest in Estonia. We will present more precise data when the ornithologists are certain about the numbers. At the outskirts of the colony great egrets nest and they too are more numerous this year than the last.

The herons incubate in the nests since the beginning of April. Generally there are four to five eggs in a full clutch and the hatching of the young herons may be expected already in less than a couple  of weeks. The incubation period lasts, depending on the weather, about 25 days.
