Body

Black stork  Must-toonekurg       Ciconia nigra

In early morning they set off on flights but the young birds must be back in the nest around eight o’clock because male Karl might come to the nest with the early morning prey about then. Who arrives too late in the nest may be left without food – and who wants that.

Mother Kati has already set out on her migration slowly moving from one good feeding place to the next. Before a long migration journey the body must recover from the summer breeding period. As we know black storks move alone on the migration..

Feeding the juveniles, who are flapping with almost adult-sized wings, needs prudent handling by the male
