Great white egret Hõbehaigur Ardea alba
In Mustvee, on the shore of Lake Peipus and at the river, a great white egret is present. A couple of days ago it was flying above Jõe street in a flock of gulls.
On October 26th it was in the Mustvee river in the middle of the city, behind the culture centre together with mallards. I wanted to photograph it but before I reached the river bank it was gone. Later it walked along the shore of Peipus but did not allow itself be photographed, flew away already at a long distance. Some kind of photo I still managed to get.
For me it was the first encounter with such a noble bird; I will go see again if I can get better photos; maybe the light is better too.
