Female Kati left the nest and Karl stayed to keep the eggs warm….

No point in making a secret of it, we were expecting a fourth egg for the morning and Kati’s egg-laying runs like clockwork. Actually laying such large eggs may be very draining for the female bird’s organism. Just behind is the recent very long migration that started in the female bird’s  wintering area in Africa.

The nest was supplemented with eggs, laid every other day on April 16, 18, 20 and 22.

Two to five eggs can be found in black stork nests. By Tuesday  it will be clear how many eggs Kati and Karl will be incubating …
