We will follow the activity in a starling nest box.

Beginning on April 22nd, the female starling has laid an egg in the nest  each day.

Both adults are busy in the nest but how to distinguish them from each other?

Usually the beak of the male is lighter or more golden yellow. The female’s eye has a narrow yellowish-white ring around the outer edge. The eye colour of the male is uniformly brown
