There are three Epirria species in Estonia and they have very similar wing patterns and colouring.

The November moth, Epirria dilutata, occurs in all Estonia but is more common in the west. Occasionally it is even present in great numbers. They are most often seen in oak stands and wooded meadows from mid-September to mid-October.

When enjoying an artificial light they sometimes sit with their wings up, ready to rise into flight any moment.

The caterpillars mainly live in oaks. The November moths  winter as eggs.
