Orchids in the secret garden – March 3rd to 11th, Solaris centre

The opening event of the Tallinn Botanical Gardens’ Orchid Exhibition takes place on Saturday, March 3rd, at the Solaris Centre at 12.00. An orchid auction is also held.
Orchids have been the pride of the Tallinn Botanical Gardens for decades already. Each spring this is confirmed. The orchids have been nurtured throughout the year in preparation for their grand show and now meet the public in all their amazing glory. On stage are alluring Paphiopedilums or Lady’s slipper orchids, wonderful Vandas, glamorous Cattleyas and enchanting Coelogynes (”Snow Queen”). Stateliness is added by the gorgeous Cymbidiums; even emperors have held them worthy of cultivating. Rare native species, looking as if from fairyland, come from all corners of the globe. The world of orchids opens the door to a wonderful universe of Nature’s creations.
