The osprey male has already been feeding the osprey chicks alone for some weeks; we have praised Ilmar as a skilled fisherman and a properly caring parent.

 

At night the nest is empty, in early morning young get their fish as can be seen in the photo. The second loud food begging time comes at three o’clock in the afternoon and small skirmishes because of the fish are usual then. By evening the nest is left empty. Soon the migration urge will take hold of the ospreys but more about that when we are there.
