On Sunday the older buzzard chicks were three weeks already; the smaller one is four days younger.

 

As long as the female was feeding the chicks all who opened the beak even a little- got their share - things seemed quite friendly in the buzzard nest.

 

From Thursday onwards however the adults only bring the prey to the nest and asserting ”possessor’s right” seems to be bred in the genes of the little raptors. They not only protect the prey that is ”theirs” but are quite aggressive towards their siblings too.

 

The nest is quite small and the buzzard chicks grow almost visibly day by day….
