Our young ospreys are soon 3 months old in both camera nests and in the next few days they will probably leave on the migration journey.

 

Males Joosep and Mikk take care of their progeny. The females are already moving towards the wintering areas. The inexperienced young ospreys will gather experiences on the migration (let us hope it will be easy at least to start with). An empty stomach will teach the fish-eaters to catch prey – the skill does not come by itself. The young birds have to work hard, on top of that all takes place on the migration, in places never seen before and in different water bodies.
