On Saturday evening the adult bird sent the juvenile off from the nest. Probably both spend the nights within sight of the nest but yesterday only the juvenile was in camera view. We may have to do with a nestling from this nest but nobody knows for sure.
In any case this first winter juvenile has a very dark brown head, the beak too is still dark, wing covert tips are dark, and of course tail feathers are not white as those of an adult white-tailed eagle should be.
