Inedible fruit – dwarf cornel

Dwarf cornel at Purekkari.

The berries of the dwarf cornel (Cornus suecica), that mostly grows along our seashores, are ripe and make the foreland shores prettier. The red fruits, of a red ochre or "Swedish red” colour, are more eyecatching than the white and brown flowers. But they are no good for eating, only for looking at.
