Ever fewer flowers

Leafy hawkweed.

  Leafy hawkweed

A perennial plant that prefers dryish soil, with quite pretty composite flowers. We can find it on roadsides, fallow lands, seashore thickets ... where it usually grows in small colonies.

The hairiness of the densely leafed stem varies, depending on the growing place. It grows up to 30 centimetres tall, but in competition with other plants a hawkweed that has stretched to a metre isn’t unusual.
