On the margin of forests, in heaths, dry grasslands and on the sea shore the small pasque flower is a pleasure to see. A hairy plant, and thus adapted to sandy soil and dry habitats. The flowers of the small pasque flower droop; the plant straightens up after flowering, so that the wind can help to transport the seeds, equipped with long hairs, to new places for growing.
