The 2016 Bird of the Year of the Estonian Ornithological Society is the great tit. The doings of one of our best known and widest spread bird can be observed the year round.

The Estonian Environmental Investments Centre,  Keskkonna-investeeringute Keskus (KIK), supports the Bird of the Year activities.

It seems that colder winter weather has finally reached us too, and it is the last moment to set up a feeder for your feathered friends.

We start the 11th season of the "Small Bird Winter Feeder Camera” – “Talilinnukaamera”. For the 6th season we use a 4G mobile transmission. The camera stream goes from Otepää to Tartu, into the EENet server there, by way of Elisa’s 4G connection that guarantees a flawless flow of the images.

The table for our feathered friends is laid out by  BALSNACK.  

The camera is at Otepää, outside the office window of LOODUSEMEES.ee . We can see the behaviour of wintering birds in an urban environment and we will surely get interesting photos from Arne Ader to publish in Looduskalender.

The LK  forum, in English, is open to all who are interested after registering.

EENet multiplies the image stream to viewers as needed.  The new player works for all newer devices, for older software  flash player is also available.
