Skylark

Skylark     Põldlõoke      Alauda arvensis

In the afternoon the sun came out, and life at once became happier. It seems that until the weekend we will have the joy of spring in daytime, slight minus degrees in night.

Skylarks have already reached the northern coast, the migration will no longer be stopped even by a ”lark’s winter”. In the next few days there will be plenty of spring discoveries.

Garden angelica looking up, photo from last Wednesday

Garden angelica; Norwegian angelica
Harilik kikkaputk       Angelica archangelica

The garden or Norwegian angelica is a native plant in Estonia. It can be recommended for growing in your home garden in good fertile soil: its anise-smelling leaves can already be used as a fresh herb in salads and soups as well as in desserts. The plant is not only surprising with regard to taste but also has a calming influence and is good for the digestion.
