12 June 2008

Night temperatures of ten degrees, daytime a maximum 16, and the wind has let up a bit but still is blowing at 10 meters per second.
The largest chick's face has started to turn black, but most stable on his feet is the smallest chick! The chicks were unfed in the morning—more than 15 hours without—but then they were brought food repeatedly. Around five a.m., an unknown stork visited the nest and followed its activities from a branch on the periphery (in the photo we can see only its beak). It's possible that Padis chased him away and the chicks were able to sleep soundly.
It's not out of the question that the visiting stork might feed the chicks—this has been recorded before in the Czech Republic.
