Late last night two coloured bands appeared on the old, partly dried poplar at the bank of Raudna river. What do they tell us?

 

The lower, orange band shows the highest water level in 2009. The upper, green band marks the highest recorded water level, in 1956.

 

Soomaa guide Algis has projected the bands by laser gauge to the poplar, from marks on the Karukose farm buildings; after all, the poplar has seen the events.
