Läbrador tea mostly grows in bogs and swamp forests but can occur in other forest types too where there are areas with sufficient humidity. When it is in full flower the whole bog may be white from its flowers and filled with the characteristic aromatic scent of it. The flower clusters (corymbs) at the tip of the stems and branches are all white. The strong scent comes from the essential oils that are easily volatilised from the plant.

If you sleep out in a tent overnight it can bring you a quite heavy headache and even make you ill.
