Yesterday night the female laid the first egg in the nest

Lesser spotted eagle       Väike-konnakotkas        Aquila pomarina

The weather is cold or changeable as in  spring, but the egg wanted to be laid despite that.

In previous years we have been able to watch the nest life of lesser spotted eagles in the webcam beginning from 2008.

In the osprey webcam 2 we now see only two eggs in the nest – what has happened in the nest of Miina and Marko?

Last year also an egg disappeared from a  nest but then the whole event was witnessed by viewers .

Female Iiris laying the third egg

In the Osprey 2 nest the female laid the third egg into the nest. Witnesses to the occasion: a pair of collared doves in a dried tree further away.

The female laid the first egg on April 28th, the second one already  the next day, April 29th, and the third one in the cold morning of May 2nd.

The fifth owl chick  hatched almost a week later than the first one and didn’t manage to survive in the fight for life. Tonight we could see what had happened..

The appetite of the young birds grows by each day and female Klaara too must be busy with getting food several times during the night.
