Info for great tit friends:

Our great tit chicks were hatched on June 24th-25th, and they may be expected to leave the nest at 18-19 days, similar to the first clutch of chicks,. In the video we see them touching up their ”flight dress”.

So early on Wednesday morning at about 6 o’clock the departure may start unless there is heavy rain or some similar problem.

Small mishaps always happen to the eaglets hanging about in the nest tree – they cannot estimate a gust of wind, or become too daring. Large birds, wing span already a couple of metres, and so they need not particularly fear a fall. Calls can be heard from a couple of branch layers below.

A few minutes earlier female eagle  Anna again arrived with a fish to coax the eaglets out of the nest. She showed nicely how to throw oneself from a branch so that the wind carries you - and left with the fish.

8.35 was departure time for one eaglet. Flying does work when you really want to or when hunger pinches.
