White-tailed eagle ( www.loodusemees.ee )
Over the past week I have repeatedly met with white-tailed eagles. There is always some large and dark eagle outline soaring in the sky or it flies flop-flop about its business .
Through our social networks I was intrigued by the question of how many people have really noticed the eagles in the sky, and it seems that they now appear everywhere. Only half a century ago meeting an eagle was great luck but now thanks to the fine people of the Eagle Club (Kotkaklubi) the number of our white-tailed eagles has grown to at least five hundred birds. And whether the eagles are curious about the life of humans or these birds soar in the sky so high that they are really visible to all far off – eagles are often encountered

These days when man has changed water networks beyond recognition the activities of beavers can well be seen as restorative. We don’t have to pay big money to restore a wetland –the beaver does all the work, for free. .
The most important news story last week on the wolf theme was about a wolf in a very awkward situation. A wolf cub born last spring had gone to explore the manure storage facility at the Koopsi farm in Tartu County.

The manure odours were irresistible to the curiosity of a daring young wolf. The situation took an unexpected turn when the wolf noticed a farm worker approaching and was so frightened that he fell into the manure slurry. The event would maybe have been ridiculous if the poor wolf had not been near drowning. The manure was very cold, the storage pool edges slippery and the animal did not manage to get out by itself
First of all our apologies to viewers – we were hoping for a faster solution to the camera stream breaks.
The current situation is that we must implement a new transmission platform. Time will tell how quickly we will succeed in doing this but late autumn is a good time for such works because there is little to show from nature at the moment.
