The camera started working without physical operations from us. Moral pressure however was strong, and it worked. The only drawback is that the same thing can happen again, and we still don’t know what causes it. So it was on Tuesday morning ... It is as if a poltergeist has got into the power system – there are problems with the batteries or their charging. We will see what can be done, but we certainly don’t want to disturb life in the nest. Luckily the power system is located away from the nest and it should be possible to work there in cover of darkness. At the moment though there are no spare battery available but we are exploring possibilities. Meanwhile there are the lesser spotted eagles to watch, including some in the former black stork nest!
