Quite common in the east, rare towards west and not found on the islands – the golden saxifrage. It grows in humid coppices and adorns mud hollows in mires.

You will certainly remember the golden saxifrage, such brightly golden-green colour is rare in nature in the end of April. Around the central inflorescence is a collar of bracts of the same colour, attached to the flower stems. The proper leaves of the plant are on the stem and their peculiar shape is worth a closer look.
