Cowslip
A good time to gather cowslips for winter. Bring a little bag along, and accompanied by singing larks it only takes half an hour or so to pick a litre or two of flowers. Spread them on a paper to dry at home and when autumn darkness looms again there is material for a sweetish, calming tea in the larder. And to that, even in winter, a memory of your spring day in the cowslip fields.
