Raven chicks leaving soon

Raven Ronk ehk kaaren Corvus corax

The raven chicks hatched around April 5-6; today the two vigorously growing young birds are six weeks. Flight exercises are performed diligently and the moment when the camera view is empty is not far off. They are almost equal in size to the adults.

The young remain in parental care, learning wisdom and skills for life, until the breeding season next year, or until March. Only then they will start a completely independent life – so we really shouldn’t talk derogatorily of selfish parents as “raven mothers“.
