Fly honeysuckle

 Fly honeysuckle Harilik kuslapuu

The flowers are yellowish white, smell faintly but pleasantly; and in any case they are worth looking at more closely: then you see their delicate and intricate shape and nature’s harmonious design. The quite small leaves are greyish-green, velvety, and on touching feel very delicate. They are placed opposite each other on the branches, and the leaves have an entire margin.

It prefers growing on fertile soils, for instance in mixed pine or spruce forests.

The blue-berried honeysuckle or sweetberry /Lonicera caerulea/  is more often found in West and South Estonia.
