From June 14 the doings of swallows nesting under the eaves of the laboratory building of the Maaülikool, Estonian University of Life Sciences, can be watched.
„After many years swallows have once again moved in and built up the nests above the laboratory house windows. And when we saw the doings of the birds outside the window we got the idea to set up a swallow camera”, the originator of the idea, Margus Arak, director of the Technology Institute of the University of Life Sciences, said.
In the camera the doings of one swallow family can be followed.
The swallow camera will be running as long as the birds are active at the nest. It is a first attempt and things may need some adjustment.
