Rain, rain, rain…
Monday, August 4th, was a wet day with a few dry breaks, but August 5th brought us a ceaseless downpour. The temperature was 12 degrees around the clock. The biggest chick went for a two-hour flight in the morning, but the others remained home.
The parents don't want to fly in the rain, which leaves the chicks unfed. Perhaps the older chick found some food on his own, but the others had to fast. Wet feathers don't make for good flight practice.Sleeping in a rain
Water in the ditches and rivers has risen and Donna and Padis have to find new places to discover food. Padis hasn't shown himself for the third day now…
Several viewers in various regions have reported flying young storks. Reports came from these areas: Kihnu Island, Northwest Estonia, Hiiumaa Island, South Estonia, and even Southern Finland. There were photos made of some of the birds in Finland which can be seen here.
