The fieldfares are not unusual birds in winter in Estonia, but it depends on the amount of berries and the severity of winter. They are large thrushes – length up to twenty-five centimetres and weight about a hundred grams. The looks of female and male birds are similar; wings drooping in typical thrush fashion, the tail is long and black.
The second fieldfare kept somewhat aside on the feeding ground. The one that was caught on video was quite bold in the company of dozens of ravens and crows but still very watchful.
