Some arrive, others leave

 Whooper swan spring

Nearly everywhere groups of newly arrived grey geese, bean geese and whooper swans can be seen. But mark also the wintering birds that gather in flocks – they leave us to go north to their nesting areas. Redpolls and snow buntings have joined the general bustle. There is an airport atmosphere in the air: some come, some go, some pass through. In this respect Estonia is a wonderland for nature lovers – migration lanes as rich as ours occur in few other places. Wetlands is a key word – they are good for birds to gather and to forage in.

The mighty migration show is only beginning yet.
