The offspring of lesser spotted eagles Tuuli and Remo was one month old on Monday July 9th. Walking and wing exercises are daily doings and it is all right to be left on one’s own in the nest too. Rain showers come frequently; feathers have to be dried all the time. Luckily the weather is warm.

 

Any shortage of food has not been noticed at the spotted eagles. In north-western Estonia young common frogs (Rana temporaria) crawled out of a relict lake on to the shore but there were still tiny-tiny frogs in thousands left and in the shoreside water the next batch was swimming. In the poor light it wasn’t any longer possible to get a photo with the mobile.
