Labrador tea
The Labrador tea mostly grows in bogs and bog forests but in other kinds of forests too with sufficiently humid habitats. Bogs and marshes are not precisely the most fertile habitats; there is water in plenty but it is acidic and plants must limit their water consumption in order to stay alive. The Labrador tea has stomata (air pores) only on the undersides of the leaves and that restricts the evaporation of water. Elsewhere hair or wax layers protect the plant.
Labrador tea already takes on more colourful hues. The plant does not drop its leaves for winter.
