A little less wind and waves and the grey seals gather in the haul-out.
The storms of last autumn have piled the shore bank high with pebbles and the seals are less visible in camera view. But we ruled out lifting the camera closer to the bank or higher up (the spot is completely open to winds and wind gusts can be up to 30 m/s). In locations as open to winds and storms as this daring has to be tempered with caution, and who knows, the storms of this year may level off the pebbles again ...
We had some small doubts about whether the seals would come ashore at all because of the high shore bank – they like haul-out spots with an open view revealing possible dangers, but they visit the shore nicely.
Even a white-tailed eagle inspected the haul-out this morning
